Rubber Grass Protection for Equestrian & Outdoor Areas

The  Rubber Grass Mat is suitable for consideration in horse-related outdoor environments where grass protection and surface drainage are important.

Its open construction allows grass to grow through the mat rather than being completely covered by a solid rubber sheet. Once grass becomes established, the mat may become less visible while continuing to provide a separate rubber surface.

The supplier also describes the mat as suitable for hard areas, offering an alternative application where a rubber covering is needed.

Although the product is marketed for horse stable use, the source does not establish its suitability for every indoor stable floor, livestock load or installation condition. Buyers should check the intended ground surface and usage requirements before ordering.

20mm Drainage Holes for Water and Debris

The mat features 20mm diameter openings designed to allow water and loose debris to pass through.

This open structure can help prevent water from collecting directly on the mat's upper surface, provided the ground underneath can drain adequately.

The openings also accommodate grass growth, making the product relevant to green-field installations where maintaining a natural appearance is desirable.

Drainage performance will depend on the underlying soil, surface preparation and local conditions. The mat does not replace a suitable drainage system where one is required.

Simple Installation on Grass or Hard Surfaces

The  grass mat is marketed as quick to install without specialist tools or costly groundwork.

It can be placed over existing grassed areas or suitable hard surfaces, depending on the intended application.

Before installation, check that the ground is reasonably stable and that the mat can sit securely without creating raised edges or movement hazards.

The original listing advertises free fixings, but does not identify their type or quantity. Buyers should confirm the included accessories and appropriate fixing method before installation.

Choosing the Right Rubber Grass Mat

Each mat measures 1.5m x 1m, providing 1.5m² of coverage.

To estimate the quantity needed, measure the installation area and divide its total square metres by 1.5. Allow for the actual layout, boundaries and any trimming requirements.

The 23mm thickness and 20mm drainage openings are important specifications when comparing this mat with solid rubber flooring or thinner grass protection products.

Only the black, 1500 x 1000mm, 23mm version is identified in the supplied listing. No alternative sizes or thicknesses are confirmed.
