Coir Surface for Everyday Entrance Use

The mat features a coir surface with a traditional fibrous texture.

Coir is commonly used in entrance matting because its firm fibres provide a surface for wiping footwear and loosening dirt before it is carried onto surrounding flooring.

The plain classic design makes this mat appropriate for buyers who prefer a simple entrance covering rather than a patterned or printed doormat.

The listing identifies a braided weave and a combination of hand and machine construction, although further manufacturing details are not provided.

Non-Slip PVC Backing

The mat has a PVC backing and is advertised as non-slip.

The backing is intended to help reduce movement during normal indoor use. However, no independently tested slip-resistance classification is supplied.

Before placing the mat on wood, laminate, vinyl or another sensitive floor finish, check the flooring manufacturer's guidance on PVC-backed products.

Choosing the Right Size and Location

At 90 × 60cm, the Classic Coir Door Mat covers approximately 0.54m², making it suitable for entrance spaces where a relatively wide wiping area is required.

Its 15mm overall thickness should be considered when positioning it beneath an inward-opening door.

The product is specifically listed for indoor use. Although it is described as water-resistant, this does not establish suitability for uncovered outdoor entrances or prolonged exposure to rain.

Only one size and one design are confirmed in the supplied listing.

Care and Maintenance

For general coir mat care, regularly removing loose dirt helps prevent debris from accumulating within the fibres.

The listing does not provide specific washing or drying instructions. Check the manufacturer's guidance before soaking, machine washing or using cleaning chemicals.

Water resistance is advertised, but this should not be interpreted as confirmation that the mat is waterproof.
