Natural Coir Fibres for Dirt Removal

Natural coconut coir has a firm, fibrous texture suited to scraping dirt from shoe soles.

The mat's surface is designed to collect mud, dust and moisture near the entrance, helping reduce the amount transferred onto interior flooring.

Its natural brown colour and traditional appearance make it suitable for entrances where a straightforward, functional doormat is preferred.

Non-Slip PVC Backing

The plain coir mat is described as having a non-slip PVC backing that helps keep it in position during everyday use.

The source lists tile, wood, laminate and concrete as suitable floor surfaces. However, grip can vary depending on the floor finish and conditions, and no certified slip-resistance rating is provided.

For delicate wooden or treated floors, check the flooring manufacturer's guidance on PVC-backed mats before prolonged use.

Suitable Locations and Size Selection

These coir entrance mats are intended for domestic and commercial settings, including front doors, hallways, covered porches, offices and shops.

For outdoor placement, choose a sheltered location rather than assuming the mat is suitable for continuous exposure to rain.

Before ordering, measure the available floor space and check door clearance. The stated approximate thickness of 17mm may be important where a door opens directly over the mat.

The source also states that the mats can be cut to size, although detailed trimming instructions and confirmation for each design are not provided.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regularly shake, brush or vacuum the coir surface to remove accumulated dirt and debris.

These are the cleaning methods specifically recommended in the product description.

Although the structured listing includes washable and tumble-dry features, it does not provide suitable washing methods, temperatures or drying instructions. Machine washing and tumble drying should not be assumed appropriate without manufacturer confirmation.
